The “General Aviation Knowledge” AirBook describes the basic principles of the theory of flight and aircraft characteristics and how these influence ATS operations. In this course, students will:
- Define the relationship between the composition of the earth’s atmosphere and aircraft operations
- Describe the aerodynamic principles and how these affect aircraft in flight
- Describe the main operating systems of modern aircraft
- Define atmospheric and environmental hazards to aircraft
- Recognise the different types of aircraft that operate in Controlled and Uncontrolled airspace
